IN FOCUS: A ST. MARY MI COME FROM
/A St Mary Mi Come From is an annual stage show promoted by reggae artist Capleton and first held in 2000. After a 3 year hiatus the show is back in full force for its 12th anniversary editionin 2016. What characterizes the event is that there are a huge number of artists on the billboard, not in the least because they want to pay respect to Capleton. Furthermore, young and upcoming artists are excited to be on the billboard and see it as their chance to show themselves to the community. Finally, proceeds of the show go to selected charitable projects in the parish of St Mary. It's Capleton's way of giving back to the community, something that is expected of Jamaican reggae artists. This year Capleton will be staging a big 'back to school' event. Over the past 15 years, the concert has generated JMD 8 million for charitable projects in Capleton's home parish.
WHEN
The show is held on August 5 2016. Gates open at 2pm and showtime is 6 pm.
WHERE
The venue is Gray's Inn Sports Complex in Annotto Bay. Needless to say that's in the parish of St. Mary. Annotto Bay is right in between Ocho Rios and Port Antonio on the North Coast.
