Anyone sticking around after Sumfest can enjoy even more reggae music and food at the Montego Bay Jerk Festival which takes place in the same venue. The Mobay Jerk Festival is a family oriented day event with food, family entertainment and music. While the younger ones get their entertainment in the Kiddies Village, Foodies can feast on all things jerked: fish, pork, chicken, lobster and more. There is even a Veggie Jerk food station. And to close off the feast, there’s an authentic reggae stageshow.

WHEN

The show is held on August 1, that’s Emancipation Day, a national holiday in Jamaica. The 2019 edition was the show’s 10 year anniversary. The stageshow normally starts quite early at about 6p.m.

WHERE

Not long after Reggae Sumfest, the Mobay Jerk festival is held at the same venue, the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre in Montego Bay. That's on Howard Cooke Boulevard.

LINE-UP

The 2019 line-up included a gospel segment with well-known gospel singers Joan Flemmings and Jabez and after that dancehall and reggae was represented by the likes of Jah Cure, Rygin King and Teejay.
