SUMFEST

Reggae Sumfest is promoted as the greatest reggae show on earth. Every year for the last 27 years, Montego Bay is flooded with patrons from Jamaica and the rest of the world excited to see a top reggae and dancehall line-up plus a host of world renowned international artists. There used to be three nights: dancehall night and International night 1 and 2. International artists that have performed on Reggae Sumfest are amongst others: Usher, Chris Brown, R Kelly, 50 cent, Akon, Wyclef Jean Missie Eliot and Alicia Keys.

Last year’s line-up with buju banton was impressive as always

Last year’s line-up with buju banton was impressive as always

Sumfest is now again a two night show preceded by a whole week of parties. And for the third year in a row: no more international artists but a strictly Jamaican line-up. Dancehall dominates the first night (Friday) and it's mostly Reggae artists on the second night (Saturday)

WHEN

Reggae Sumfest is held in the resort town of Montego Bay in the third week of july. For 2020 that’s July 12 to 18. It is a week long festival culminating in a stageshow on Friday and Saturday with Jamaica’s greatest reggae artists.

WHERE

The venue is the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex in Montego Bay. For those not able to make it Sumfest is streamed live in HD for free on its official website.

LINE-UP

Sumfest always has an impressive line-up consisting of the biggest names in reggae and dancehall and the hotest stars of the moment. As soon as information is available on next year’s line-up, you will find it on the official sumfest website.

MORE

Mobay is flooded with Sumfest patrons every year so it’s wise to plan ahead when it comes to finding a place to stay. If you got dollars to spend the Sumfest website’s hotel and travel section is worth checking. Some of the finer hotels in Mobay and around partner up with Sumfest and offer special rates. You can even go all out crazy and go for one the all-inclusive Sumfest packages. All you have to do is show up at the airport in Mobay and everything is arranged from there on. Not really our cup of tea but hey, it's your trip.

Ticket prices for the parties and the actual stage show are quite expensive. Check the Sumfest Website for ticket prices and decide which events you will be attending: presale is cheaper than at the gate and weekend tickets are cheaper than day tickets.
