NEGRIL JERK FESTIVAL

An annual jerk festival held early in January. In fact, the 2016 edition was supposed to be held on new year's day. Don’t be fooled by thinking there's only going to be food here because this all-day event has reggae music on the menu as well.

Combining the best of both worlds, food and reggae music, the Negril Jerk Festival is a real treat for those reggae fans that also enjoy the epitome of Jamaican food: all things jerked. Jerk chicken, jerk pork, jerk fish, ... jerk anything.

January 2014 saw the first staging of this festival with a line-up that included Kiprich, Terry Linnen, Jah Mason, D’Angel. There was less of an extensive line-up for the 2015 edition.

The festival is also a family fun day with crafts and activities for children in the kiddies village.

WHEN

The 2016 edition of the 'Negril Beach Jerk Festival and Family Fun day', as it is officially named, was cancelled. The organisers want to take a year of to prepare a stunning 2017 edition on January 1st.  It's an all day event from 10 a.m. till midnight. So show up early for the stageshow. Then again, you're gonna be there all day because you have to eat anyway, right?

WHERE

The venue is Wavz Beach in Negril. That’s on Norman Manly Boulevard (front entrance) or on seven mile beach (the beach area itself), depending if you're on the beach or on the road parallel to the beach.
